Calavera:
A Calavera is a form of poetry that originated from Mexico during Dia de Los Muertos. They can be about teasing, joking, satirical or critical and is usually written about someone famous. Almost as if to make fun of someone. The poem usually ends with the famous person dying in a humorous way.
At the beginning of the project I wasn't working on my art piece yet but I started my poem from the beginning. I used my time wisely to finish the poem but ended up procrastinating the drawing part. At first my drawing wasn't coming out how I wanted so I changed my story to end his life differently. In the end Pouya (a rapper who I chose to do my Calavera on) gets run over by one of his run away Beamer wheels and it chops his head off sending it bouncing through the air. This was easier for me to picture and made it easier to chose how I would illustrate the poem. The overall experience was fun although I could definitely use my time better from the beginning.
